App Review: ERres, Neuro Toolkit & Doximity Dialer

A menu of healthcare apps you can actually put to use.


Essential App: ERres
ERres includes a complete collection of reference material all in one app. In addition to medical calculators, treatment guidelines and pediatric dosing recommendations, it includes instructions for procedures and bedside ultrasound studies. It’s user friendly and can be used at bedside for quick reference. Price: $9.99 on Google Play and iTunes.


Specialty App: Neuro Toolkit
Neuro Toolkit features scoring tools for Neurologic processes like the NIH Stroke Scale, a dermatome map, Snellen Eye Chart, and treatment recommendations for neurologic diseases like epilepsy, Parkinson’s, and Multiple Sclerosis. Price: $4.99 on iTunes.

Professional App: Doximity Dialer
Doximity Dialer allows you to display the phone number of your emergency department (instead of your personal number) when you call patients. This is useful for checking on patients and for the Practice Improvement component of ABEM’s Maintenance of Certification. Price: Free on Google Play and iTunes.
